Changing your Settings
To switch over to our new carrier the following change must be made in your ADSL login settings. Note: these instructions only apply to users previously on the Veridas network @veridas.net
New ADSL Login Setting
- Change from [your username]@veridas.net to [your username]@australisit.net
This change is usually done in your modem configuration. Most modems allow you to do this from a web browser, by entering the modem's default LAN IP address into the address bar. For Netcomm modems, the default IP is 192.168.1.1. Please refer to your modem documentation for particulars.
Provided your modem is connected correctly, you should arrive at the configuration screen. You may first be prompted for a username and password to access this page (NOTE: your DSL username and password will not work here).
- Netcomm NB1300 default username is "admin" and password is "password".
- Netcomm NB3 default username and password are both "root".
- Netgear DM111 setup instructions
- Please refer to your modem documentation for particulars.
Next, look for the section where you may enter your ISP settings. This section may be called "Quick Config", "One Page Setup" or similar. Locate the area where username and password are listed, and type your new ADSL login setting.
Click OK, Submit or Apply etc; you may then be prompted save your settings and reboot your modem. The modem will take a few moments to reboot; when the status lights are steady your internet connection should start working.
Network Settings
If you experience browsing difficulties, the problem could be the obsolete Veridas DNS in your network settings. To check this in WinXP:
Click Start -> Control Panel -> Network Connections
Right click Local Area Connection icon, left click Properties. On the next window, double click Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) from the listed items. This should open a further window which displays your IP and DNS settings. Ensure these are set to "Obtain an IP address automatically" and "Obtain DNS server address automatically". If you continue to experience connectivity problems please log a call to 1800 288871 for urgent assistance.
Email Settings
Please note your outgoing mailserver setting should be altered to permit sending of mail. In Outlook Express click Tools -> Accounts -> Mail tab -> Properties button -> Servers. Alter the outgoing (SMTP) server to: smtp.australisit.net - no other email settings should be altered.
